Soft, Antibacterial Wool Felt
Our approximately 7-9mm thick felt insoles are made from 100% natural sheep wool. This material offers exceptional insulation against cold floors and provides a cushioned, soft step, ensuring a wonderfully comfortable wearing experience. Real felt possesses a natural antibacterial effect, creating a pleasant and fresh climate for your feet at all times.
Two-tone Design
The insoles feature a two-tone design, allowing you to easily adapt them to any style by simply removing and reversing them. The two layers are not glued together but rather felted, ensuring breathability is maintained.
How do the insoles fit?
The insoles fit true to size and are a perfect match for all our WoolFit® slippers with insoles. They can also be worn in other slippers, street shoes, or boots that have enough space to accommodate the insoles and provide a wonderfully comfortable and soft feeling. If you are unsure, we recommend ordering one size larger as they can be easily trimmed to the appropriate size with scissors.
Fair & Environmentally Friendly Production
Our insoles are manufactured in Kyrgyzstan in a women-led artisanal workshop. The compensation provided to the felt artists is well above the average in Kyrgyzstan.
Our production process is free from plastic and chemicals. Only wool, water, and a little soap are used for felting, ensuring an environmentally friendly approach.
Wool Collection Stations
In Kyrgyzstan, where the number of sheep exceeds the human population, the demand for wool is easily met. However, remote sheep herders in small villages without access to cities often have to discard their wool. To address this, our partner in Kyrgyzstan has set up wool collection stations in these villages, providing herders with a profitable outlet to sell their wool. This sustainable approach ensures the responsible use of our resources.
A Bit of Wool Knowledge
The wool used for our insoles comes from small and medium-sized farmers located in the highlands of the Naryn-Kul regions in Kyrgyzstan. The unique properties of Kyrgyz sheep wool are influenced by the harsh conditions of the highlands. The wool has more curls, resulting in stronger felt that offers enhanced protection against the cold.
